Club Picnic-BBQ – Hurricane Shoals Park – near Maysville GA

The park does not open until 10:00 AM so don’t arrive earlier. Bring $5 cash to enter park.

Harry & Vicky plan to arrive at 10:00 to unpack our truck and start to setup the Pavilion. If you would like to help come at 10-10:30. We expect to start cooking burgers and hotdogs at 11:00-11:30 and will have aluminum dishes on water over propane to keep warm to feed all. If you desire to assist cooking on the grills please arrive before 11 AM. I need help.

Please RSVP by September 23 as Harry & Vicky need to buy food etc and not buy more than we need. We plan on a hot dog and a hamburger per person. If you don’t want either or both or would prefer Salmon burger please email me

Hurricane Shoals Park, located just off I-85 and SR 82 near Maysville GA. Go I-85 north and exit on SR 98 go left. This exit is before you get to the Commerce GA exit SR-441.

The 71.35-acre park, which preserves an area of exposed granite shoals along the North Oconee River, was officially opened to the public in 1978.

We have rented #2 Gazebo Building. It’s just to your right after entering through the covered bridge. You can pay the $5 (cash) parking fee and come through the covered bridge to unload food and chairs, then park in front of the basketball court if not full. Otherwise need to go back through the covered bridge to the main larger parking lot.

Admission: $5 per vehicle. Cash only. 

Must enter through Maysville side entrance.

Play and swim at the shoals at your own risk. 
No fishing allowed in river.

NO PETS OR ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ALLOWED.

We ask each person or couple or group to bring a side dish or dessert to share. Not for entire group but for perhaps 6. We’ll have enough across all brought.

Harry is asking for volunteers to be our BBQ cooks on the park grill and a couple coal grills. Contact Harry to volunteer
