DESCRIPTION:Registration is open for our 43rd SuperVette Saturday all-Corvette show. Date is Saturday\, May 2nd. Location: Day’s Chevrolet in Acworth\, GA. Show time: 10 am to 3 pm \nLCU Roger McQueen will have his modified C6 in the showroom for viewing. He may bring another 1 or 2 of his Corvettes. Roger is also a judge for the show. Classic Glass is seeking more judges. Stephen’s email is at the bottom of this text. \nGo to supervettesaturday.com for show details and to pre-register. \nWe are Classic Glass Corvette Club of Marietta\, GA with ~300 members. We started 43 years ago in 1983. SuperVette Saturday is our largest show of the year and one of the larger all-Corvette shows in Georgia. Net proceeds go to support charities in the Atlanta area. Some orgs we gladly support include: North Metro Miracle League (special needs)\, Marietta Police Athletic League\, BarkVille Dog Rescue\, McKenna Farms Therapy Services (special needs). Last year– we proudly distributed $13k to 10 different charities. \nEach year we come-up with a theme to build the show around. This year we are celebrating the modified Corvette\, hence the catchy show name: It’s a Mod\, Mod\, Mod Corvette Show (a take-off from the 1963 movie for those too young). We’ll have 5 or 6 modified Corvettes displayed in Day’s showroom for you to enjoy including Vengeance Racing’s C6 Z06 Fatman 3.0– a 3000 HP full blown drag car! \nAcworth is about 25 miles north of Atlanta up I-75 and less than 90 mins south of Chattanooga. Outside Judges will award 1st place trophies for C1 through C8 and Modifieds. There will also be People’s Choice selections for the top 10 Corvettes\, as well as a Day’s Chevrolet Manager’s Choice award\, and the Carl Etter Founders Best in Show award. We will also have a few unique awards for the Modified entrants. We are targeting 20 businesses setting-up shop in the parking lot and inside the showroom to promote their products and services.. Chick-Fil-A will be serving box lunches for purchase. Coffee served in the morning and ice cream in the afternoon for purchase. There will be door prizes\, 3 different raffles (winning ticket must be present). The NCM Store from Bowling Green will be there selling branded apparel. And\, did I say the proceeds go to support local charities. More info to follow. SUMMARY:Memorial Day car Parade - Gainesville GA
DESCRIPTION:This is requesting your RSVP by April 20 if interested to attend with your Corvette. More details will follow if we get 10 cars minimum to participate. \nThere is a Gainesville Memorial Day Parade we have participated before in the past.  We have placed this on the calendar for May 25th. Typically\, we meet up at 7AM\, travel to the staging area and the parade kicks off about 10ish.\n\nThis calendar entry is to determine if there is interest in participating this year.  If so do an RSVP\, list only the driver and set the number to be the number of cars (if you have multiple cars and you are going to bring more than one\, please do 1 RSVP per car).  If we have at least 10 cars\, I will contact the organizers and get us in the parade.  It goes down basically Green St in Gainesville and is about 1.5 miles.  No candy can be thrown from the cars.\n\nSo\, if interested please RSVP by April 20th.  From this interest I will decide if we are going to participate.\n\nThanks\, Fred

DESCRIPTION:On May 29th (Friday) we will have a scenic drive to Watson Mill Bridge State Park for a day exploring the park and have lunch.  This is not a Picnic\, but we are renting a Pavilion for the day.  Bring whatever you want for your lunch.  Meet up and leave details are being developed as we look for a great scenic route with minimal blind intersections.\n \nAbout Watson Mill Bridge State Park:\nOne of the most picturesque state parks in Georgia\, Watson Mill Bridge contains the longest covered bridge in the state\, spanning 229 feet across the South Fork River. Built in 1885 by Washington (W.W.) King\, son of freed slave and famous covered-bridge builder Horace King\, the bridge is supported by a town lattice truss system held firmly together with tree nails.
